About Bear Paw Press Games

We make seriously fun party games for people who should know better.

Bear Paw Press started as a company that publishes thoughtful, feel-good books about being human - stories filled with humor, heart, and the beautifully imperfect mess of everyday life. From reflective nonfiction to character-driven fiction, Bear Paw Press books celebrate connection, resilience, and finding your way - often with a little dirt under your nails.

And then one day, we had a different idea.

What if we also made something for the other side of being human - the side that laughs too loud, says the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time, and knows life is too short to always behave?

So, we created Bear Paw Press Games - a mischievous division of Bear Paw Press dedicated to laughter, questionable decisions, fun with friends, and saying things you probably shouldn't say out loud (but will anyway).

Why Bad Gardeners?

Bad Gardeners – Mulch Happens is our very first game.

We chose it for two simple reasons:

1) We love plants and gardening… we're just not always good at either.

  • We've overwatered.
  • We've underwatered.
  • We've occasionally killed plants just by looking at them.

2) We love plant people.

Gardeners are some of the most thoughtful, nurturing humans you'll ever meet… who also happen to have a surprisingly twisted, slightly unhinged sense of humor.

Give a group of gardeners a glass of wine, and within ten minutes the conversation goes places no seed catalog has ever had the courage to explore.

That kind of delightful energy? That's the heart of Bad Gardeners.

And as far as we can tell… there's nothing quite like it on the market.
Which probably says something about us.

Is This Game for You?

If you're a plant person, a gardener, or someone who has ever whispered, "please don't die" to a fern…
this game is for you.

If you're not - but you have a slightly twisted sense of humor, enjoy off-color jokes, laugh at things you probably shouldn't, and appreciate a good 17+ party game with friends…

…you are absolutely our kind of people.

(Or we're your kind of game company. Either way, welcome.)

What's Next?

Bad Gardeners is just the beginning.

We're already working on more seriously fun, slightly socially offensive party card games - because apparently, we have no interest in behaving ourselves.

Stay tuned. It only gets worse.
(In the best possible way.)
